National Banana Day
April 16
Do you know that the town of Fulton, Kentucky is known as the Banana Capital of the World? Or that it's possible to grow banana trees outdoors in Kentucky? We offer both tropical and hardy banana trees, so stop by and we'll help you decide which trees are best for your situation. The chance of growing edible bananas is slim, so they're gown in Kentucky primarily for their lush, tropical foliage.

International Bat Day
April 17
Kentucky's bats, along with all other bats in the world, are extremely important to our planet and local ecosystem, but they are in trouble. We can do some things to help them in our little corner of the world by planting flowers and trees that attract nighttime pollinators (such as moths), which they like to eat. Our Kentucky bats' favorite food is mosquitos, so it's a tremendous benefit having bats coming into our yards.
We have a link to a list of bat-friendly plants that you can add to your yard to assist Kentucky's little helpers. We have many of these plants in stock or can acquire them for you.
Remember to NEVER use outdoor insecticides, so you won't harm the bats who are dining on insects.
